What are the point of the csrs in the ugly red vest on the front end. They don't do anything useful but yell for people to comeup front and tell you when to go on break. As short handed as most stores are why do we have csr's instead of extra cashiers.
I agree!!!!!!!! Upper management thinks its a great idea but it really sucks. I work in the floral department and usually spend more than 6 hours on the front end. Kroger is f*ed up.
They do a lot more at my store, most of them help bag, when we're short on baggers, watch u-scan, when the person has to go on break, they do so much more, mind you I do work at a smaller store, but these people do their work and do it well.
i think that the red vest person is just a waste of an employee, instead of just standing there not doing nothing but directing people into the lanes that they don't want to go in. the only reason that kroger has this red vest thing is because they are trying toi be like wal*mart, in every way that they can. when you are very busy and you have to holler for people to come to the front and then they don't even bother to come and help you, that'sa what really ticks me off, yes i'm a front end supervisor and every now and then i get to put on my little red vest and stand at the back of the register and look stupid. plus our zone wants the cashier if they have no customers to stand at the end of their register and get customers to come thru their lane. so tell me if the cashiers are doing that then what is the purpose of the floor supervisor to be back there doing the same thing. it seems like everytime that wal*mart does something then kroger has to be a copycat and do the same thing as wal*mart is doing. and i for one thinks that it's ridulous. been with kroger for almost 4 years now.
