I love working at Kroger, it has been the best job I have ever had. If your not enjoying your work then yeah you should quit because your attitude will hurt your performance and your co-workers performance. Kroger has all kinds of opportunities if you put some effort into it.

Yeah, you're right Frozen! If you put effort into it. (Saying sarcastically) How much effort, might I say? Hmmmmm, I know people that have been working at Kroger for 20+ years and they only get paid $17 an hour. Did I mention, that you have to BEG to get 40 hours a week? Most of the employees that work more than 20+ years are still standing for 8-10 hours, some employees ranging from the age of 40-65+. Regards to the clerk that work with the elderly lady, she doesn't have an adverse attitude. She's complaining about the childish act from an elderly woman who is promoting ignorance in the workspace. Why she should take the blame for someone's mistakes?

My suggestion, if you're still young get another job. Yes, there are employment opportunites but don't count on them in a few months or years, try 8-11 years!

nahh I'm just making over 10 bucks an hour but I really do love the job. I have worked in a whole bunch of different jobs and I find grocery to be the most rewarding for me personally. Not too labor intense and mostly relaxed work. Don't get me wrong, you have to keep steady at it to get the job done but it's not hard. I routinely bring in between 400 - 600 units per truck and it just me and one part time helper but we have no trouble getting it done and even find time to yak.

If you find working at Kroger hard then lol, your no man in my book, your just a wimp who is looking for a paycheck for sitting on your a$$. I like people who are interested in working not goofing off and wasting my time and company time.

frozen is a good opportunity, it's easier than grocery and you get paid more. Most people don't like it because they think it's cold, which some of it is, but you get used to it. If you wan't to move up quick be a productive worker on a grocery crew.

If you love working at Kroger then your obviously not doing any real labor. Maybe punching a button or scanning, maybe pushing a #2 pencil. Try breaking down a truck with 2 guys every night, then slam it in the shelf and have to move over to another isle because theres 9 trucks coming in a 7 day week and they wont hire any help or no more than 5-6 guys each night in a store doing 3-4 million amonth. Do that for a year then see if you love Kroger.

Yeah, I agree with oldtoys...I stock at night, and sure...some people are like, that's a piece of cake, but you do have to open the boxes, price the items, stick them on the shelves(where they are suppost to be) then face or block the aisles, make them look all straight and snazzy. It really is hard work, and gets the demeanor down some..

i totally admire the stocking guys at night. they bust their butts all night long to make the store look good and keep product on the shelves. but please don't insult the rest of us who don't do the hard physical labor. i can't sling boxes all night long because i have a little man i take care of during the day.

but i do stand for 8-10 hours a day, unloading bascarts of groceries the entire time, bagging, running from one end of the front end to the other, sorting and putting away go-backs, counting and balancing tills, doing all the paperwork required by the main office and really working to sort out the genuine complaints/issues on the front end from the bitching, whining and lazy slacker attitudes. there are some serious issues...but most of our problems are simply people not wanting to actually work for their pay.

the issues of little pay, little to no recognition for a job well done and ridiculous requirements and standards set by pencil pushers who no longer actually work in the field affect all of us from the front end to the back stock rooms.
