My husband just got hired on at Kroger Distribution... He's going to be an order selector in the freezer section. He starts on sunday, my question is when does the employee discount kick in and how much % off do you get? Also another question about the benefits...I have an abcessed tooth and I need to go to the dentist, I don't have any insurance right now...living on antibiotics right now. How long does he have to work there to receive health insurance? I'm just wondering if I can hold out that long to get it fixed or if I need to just get it pulled, I really want to save my tooth if I can. Sorry for all the questions... Thank for reading this.
Thank you for answering....They did give him a discount card and we tried to use it the same day, but it didn't take any discounts off yet. It's probably because he wasn't officially an employee yet. In fact today is his first day of training (1-11-09). When we go back to the store to pick up a few items again, we'll have to see if it works this time. Thanks again
yea I just got hires this week I think the whole process of being able to use your employee discount will start in a week. For the health insurance and dental you would have to sign up for that with the union, so you might want to talk to them
Not all the Kroger brand items are bad. I hate reading all your posts about how everything is "****ty". At least you work for a company that is willing to give you a discount on these products.
As for the Employee discount, it should work after about a week of your husband working there. Just a word of advice: don't lose any of your discount cards because after I lost mine and had to have it replaced, my manager purposely took months to transfer everything just because she didn't like me. And the insurance should be discussed with the union as for when you can both recieve it, but it should work for both of you soon. Good luck =]
Some of our Private labels is good. Some like the Toaster Pasteries for $1 a box is awful. You just as well eat cardboard. Figure 8 of those slabs in a box, thats $.12 each, how do you think they'll taste as compared to PopTarts? Theyre awful, and people scarf them up. What do they use them for? Kiddie Biscuits? I wouldn't even make my child eat it.
