Kroger isn't the ideal place to work
Permalink

The reason I say this is from my experiences working there. I've worked there for about 7 years and the only thing I can say good about it is that my pay started out at $6.50 hr. and now I make $10.25 hr, and really thats not all that impressive considering I've been there 7 years. Kroger doesnt reward the right things, I mean they don't seem to care about integrity or hard work that much. Ive always showed up, done my job and not called in unless I was sick. It just seems that after that amount of time something would've happened like for instance being offered full-time.
A lot of people are right with their complaints about too many co-managers, We have four right now and I can't see what good if any that two of them do at all. Most of the time they just make things worse by suggesting things that are completely useless. Ive worked on the front end for 7 years and some co-manager who is fresh out of school and  has never worked for Kroger at all thinks she knows how to do my job better than I do? Please, give me a MF'N break. I think all in all, it's just a ****ty place to work if you're looking to be there any length of time, and Ive unfortunately been there way too long hoping that something good would come of it and so far nothing really has.

Just think about the poor ****s thats been there 20+ years. Most retired from Kroger after 30+ years, but with todays standards and routines you couldn't make 30+ years starting today.

Most that did retire will tell you they did they're time when Kroger was a great place to work, but in the last 10 years they really went to ****. Star, Key Retail, all things created by snotnose business grads fresh out of school thats NEVER worked in the grocery store or did a day of manual labor, and theyre gonna tell you how to do your job when they couldn't do it themselves. Working in a food store today IS NOT like working in a store 10 years ago, it has changed dramatically.

Remember:

THOSE WHO CAN"T---LEAD THOSE WHO CAN....
