be care full who you trust making friends at this company do not get into deep with anyone you will get kicked ....

we so surveys all the time for the company and its to eveluate pretty much on the company to see if they are doing a good job in the work place  in meeting the needs of employees. this last few months we took one and the bosses scored very low and the only thing they had to say was ... our scores were very low so i hope its because everyone forgot to do the servey and not because you hate working here......wow

if thats not denying the fact that  our employees are not happy then i don't know what is....

we have the worst abandonment  rate and it will continue to get worse if the company doesn't wake up and realize.

yes if you kiss butt you will get higher because no boss wants to admit it when a employee know more then them so thats why they are not always fond of the ones who realy make there time worth while but they love the butt kissers because they are not a challenge for them so they won't have to think as much because why do the dirty work when i can have my monkey do it . but remember attitude is everything have knowlegde witha good attitude and you have power  and butt kissing is the cowards way out.

i just hope they can wake up and find better managers that will serve a porpose instead of problems....

a collage degree isn't always the best for way for a better company

I agree. The pharmacy manager where I work is so hated, that people in stores in other states talk about her! She has been there for 10 years and the turn over rate in our pharmacy is consistant. You can't keep pharmacists and the ones who do work with her cannot get people in to cover for vacations, etc., because she is such a C**T. Hopefully when Kroger needs to cut costs they will see that she is a problem and keep the new, lower paid pharmacists and force her into early retirement.
Pharmacists are hard to come by, though, so maybe they just keep her for that fact.

Yea,we got those too. Those that seem to think if they tell on everyone, they'll get ahead. Seems their everywhere but very heavy at Kroger.

I know what you guys mean, I'm front end, and I mostly work with high school kids. They bring high school to work too. I've been there for almost 2 years and people who kiss up (aka party and do a ''better job'') get moved up. I've been there a while and I'm still on bagging/register/U-scan. I've asked more than once to consider a promotion of some sort, but I don't ''do a good enough of a job''

Well, I hope they know that one of the newest Floor Suppivisors they have hired went to a wild party and got so drunk she took a s**t on herself. And if that is doing a ''better job'' than me, I must have been doing it wrong for years....

yeah. we have one of those girls at our store. and coincidentally she is a new floor super and she did go to a party and s**t on herself. this girl is a complete c**t and will call corporate if we (customer service) don't do something. she has reported me several times for being rude to her when i actually have been doing my job and trying to explain to her how she is suppose to do a few things that she is suppose to be doing.

i just have to ask...do you guys read your posts before you send them to the board? i can't understand half of what is being said here...misspelled words, horrible grammar, convoluted thought processes....can't you just say what is on your mind without all the extra stuff thrown in?

are you mad because someone got promoted and you didn't? sorry...it happens.

are you mad because you were told you aren't doing a good enough job to get promoted? find out what you need to be doing better...and then do it!

are you mad because the person who got promoted isn't deserving of the promotion (in your opinion)?...well, welcome to the real world!

Kroger is not high school. It is not your family. It is not your friend. Kroger is your work place. You come in, you do your job, you get paid. End of story. What happens off the clock, is not Kroger's business. Kroger doesn't care what your newest FE Supervisor does when not at work...and frankly, neither do I. What Kroger does care about is:

do you come in when you are scheduled to work
do you do your work while you are there
are you a team player...or do you sit around talking about other people
are you pleasant
do you put your customers first

seriously...what are YOU bringing to the table?

Great post.
Something like this ought to be read to new hires the first time they come complaining to theirbosses about some whiny issue.
I know I'd like to have the time back I spend explaining why so and so got an earlier shift, or got promoted, or had a Saturday off and they didn't.
I can recite the responses from memory: They've been here 5 years longer than you (seniority), they put in a request instead of expecting me to be a mind reader, or that other person actually showed up when scheduled and when called, applied themselves to the job, and took care of the company's customers/business instead of socializing and ignoring customers to plan what they're doing after work.

I agree have knowledge with a good attitude. I work with a girl that complains how unfair it is that she does her job while she has to take up the slack for someone else. And she is not quiet about it either. "Wake up hunny, we all deal with that, but we don't speak about it" It's the you're wrong we are right situation. clock in, shut up, clock out. You can't trust people you work with so watch what you say. Better not to speak at all. Thank you maam, May i have some more please? Worry about what your job is and how you're gonna get it done. Cause the sure don't worry about you.
