Fortune has truly smiled upon me this week, for I do not have to deal with the front end at ALL! Thank Goddess. I'm File Maintenance all week, at my store and a couple others with their pre-Inventoryness, and I could not be happier. I've been trained for just about everything on the front end and though I do appreciate the hours, I am sick of being stuck up there. Its not that I don't like the customers, though I do admit there are a lot of aggravating people that come in. (Seriously, all you have to do is say the name "Patty" in my store and most of the service desk clerks with try to find a place to hide), but I'm kind've sick of dealing with some of the people I work with up there. We have a new co-manager and i'm sick of hearing her talk down the cashiers and other people up front, myself included. I much prefer working by myself on the aisles and helping customers on the floor. So I guess this week is a bit bitter-sweet. It will be lovely, but it must also come to an end. Gwah. I don't think it would be so bad if I could just put said co-manager in a box with a big bright red "Return to Sender" sticker on it.
Whats horrible is that I'm only halfway joking. Sigh...
glad you have a little reprieve. i work front end and, for the most part, i like it. it is frustrating because not everybody can see the big picture. they are mostly focused on their own little part of the front end team and seem to resent everybody else. what they don't understand is that if one person doesn't do their job, then everybody has to pick up that slack and it just doesn't work.
sorry you have bad co-manager. that really sucks! we got a new co-manager about 7 months ago and he is awesome! a bit moody at times, but he knows his job and he really cares about the front end. it makes my job so much easier because when i ask for help, he gives it. i have learned so much about how to keep the front end rolling during crunch times from him. i hope your situation changes for the better soon!
