Minimum wage goes up in July and I was told that front end employees who started before the date that minimum wage goes up, will not receive a raise. Is this true? If so Kroger is doing some illegal practices.
legally, Kroger must pay at least the minimum wage when it is raised. they are not required to give everyone a raise in conjunction with the raise. for example, if you are making $1 more than the current minimum wage, they are not legally obligated to raise your pay so that you are making $1 more than the new minimum wage.
