recently started work at the local kroger in the bakery. after twenty hours of training i was turned loose working by myself (not a bad thing) and closing up.a lot of work a lot of responsibility but not a lot of money, heck hardly making any money. didn't they make a profit of over a billion dollars last year, and they start you at minimum wage. wow! and to think, in six months i might get a .20 cent raise. to be continued.

disbelief kroger needs to shut all their bakeries down now. sugar sugar and more sugar.there are healthy alternatives to the fat laden nutritionally void goods they sell.

the main difference between what the bakery sells and what a drug dealer sells are the drugs are illegal, while the bakeries goods are not, but should be.

I love working in my bakery! Lately I've been having 6am-230pm shifts (Which are crappy) but when I have second shift (1230-9pm) I am so stoked. I'm not big on any of the sweet stuff we bake, but I like a lot of the breads. I was in deli to begin with and got really sick of it so I sort of maneuvered myself into bakery by learning all the stuff really quickly and inserting myself in when needed. (A good trick, if you're looking to change areas). It's pretty hectic in the morning but peaceful at night. I take my time and I still usually finish early. My record was when I got to work two hours late (after having gotten my schedule wrong) and then I finished two hours early, so all my work was done in four and a half hours. Incredible! But then I had to stand around for awhile pretending to look busy

As far as pay goes, I pretty much make minimum wage. After a year and a quarter of working, I'll finally make 8 dollars. Whoop. A few jobs ago I was making 8.50 to SIT down and listen to music and not do much else. Sadly, I moved and had to leave that job.
