nasty cashier

We have a cashier who has been with the company for many many years.  Not only is she a disgrace to the front end, she is a very ugly person on the inside.  She is rude, yells at co-workers in front of customers, and sometimes even walks away from customers to confront another employee.  Her health is bad..she is always whining and if what is going on is not about her, she makes it about her.  Enough said, you get the hint.  Management is very aware of this.  This did not just start, has been going on for years.

My question...why is she not fired or disciplined?  If anyone else in the front end pulled the crap she did, we would have been out the door a long time ago.  It also undermines all the work the good cashiers do.

Should I go to corporate with this?

Apparently management in the store is aware of it. If she's a "lifer" or been with Kroger for years then they'll let her get away with it just to keep them out of their hair..

I've found when store management won't do anything, corporate is the only resort. Usually store management doesn't like being under the microscope of corporate or being brought to their attention. Send corporate a email of letter. Or better yet get a customer to do it. Have a friend come in and set her ass up. Nothing grabs attention more than a unhappy customer which spends money, more than another employee complaining.

Sorry to tell you but ALL kroger is union.  maybe you haven't been with the kroger company long enough to be in the union.  you are on a 45 day probation period when you start with kroger and then you will start paying u nion dues.  it will be on your paycheck every week.

Customers HAVE complained...some even refuse to go through her line because of previous experiences w/her.

Good point you present...she is a lifer..what do you think about the hotline offered by Kroger?

Cut her fricking tires or get someone else to do it. Just make sure no cameras can get a visual. Maybe she'll get tired of it and want a transfer to another store.
