A rant about the front end kids
Permalink

I have been in the working force for the last 9 years. I am in my 20's now. I know how to work, and I have plenty of experience in different fields under my belt. And the other day I did something at Kroger I thought I would never have to do in my life. I have worked at two previous grocery stores..I have some good grocery experience. But I did it yes I did it....I showed someone how to open the dairy cooler door. You heard me right. I showed a kid off of the front end how to open the dairy cooler door. the kid said he "thought there was more to it than it appeared". Is this the kind of people Kroger hires? And do kids from the front end sag their pants, listen to rap music in and out of the break-room? How about use foul language all around the store. Or maybe kiss or hug their girlfriend/boyfriend around the store. I am sick and tired of it. I HATE it! what should I do?

Well i work in dairy and i dont let those little ****s anywhere near my cooler. Always puttin there broken eggs on top of my backstock and my backstop on top of my eggs. I drop a lot of **** back there and i cuss all the time. for example i might say "OH **** I JUST DROPPED THOSE THREE CRATES OF MILK ON MY FOOT".  But the worst thing is getting called to go up front because they cant figure out that they sent 5 cashiers and baggers on reshops.

the kids have to go into the dairy cooler sometimes because they have damaged dairy products in their re-shop. They place it right inside the door in a damaged section. I am so sick and tired of their unprofessional attitudes.

As someone who started out as a bagger now a cashier. I have to say my store's front end is actually pretty decent, the secretary does not hire someone who comes in unprofessional for the interview. What I hate is Customer Service, at my store 553 the ones who work in the officer are the ones who got special treatment because a) they were hot b) they're the slick cool guy c) the floor sup likes them.
I've been working at my store for 2 years last month, and a few weeks ago a girl in accounting (who was customer service) said I clocked in too slow. Then sunday when i asked what to do, she had the nerve to say get on register 8 and try not to be useless this time.

I know i'm a good employee, but I get treated as a sub-human. Funny because other people who work u-scan, customer service call out for random things or just generally not show up. I'm ready to quit, I was told i could work in fuel but alas my co-manager did not want to fire me from inside to hire me outside.

Well...not every person on the front end is a kid!Am just over 20,have twins,go to school part time.I work for my children and the same with school!! I don't think that there should be any stereo type for anyone. There could very well be some people of low intellect in any department. It is the person not the job title. However,I do see your point with the door.It could not take too much brain power to figure out how to open any door:P

At my store, I'm sure it happens at others, a lot of our baggers put damaged dairy with the regular damages, frozen damages in the dairy and my personal favorite they will put frozen damages on this metal pole just in front of the freezer door.  They left a feww nice messes that way!

Have you Dairy people ever went to the front end and trained the staff how to do the re shops the correct way for your department?

Instead of complaining - why not to the bull by the horn and teach them.

Isn't that the nice human way of doing things instead of huffing under your breath what worthless garbage they are?

Show some humanity for once please.
