Have problems at 488 , in mckinney texas, as we seem to have a manager with many years experiance but all with Wal-mart. Been with Kroger for less that a year and a half. Does not seem to understand the concept of a Union Conract. Have had to have the union there just about weekly because of it.
Where is 439 ? 488 is a small store in Mckinney, Texas that is a boarderline value store / mid type signature store . Can be a good little store but Manager wants to make it like a big High volume store and the clientel is not that type.
Have to wonder what will happen this summer. Local 1000 has been without a contract since december, houstons has been up since beginning of April and our`s local 540 contract is up in a month. Has to be the best time for a good contract and strength in numbers. never recall all ot them up at the same time.
I would like to argue that point with you, but can not. I have been there about 5 years and in the meat department. They have had a half dozen deli/bakery managers and four produce managers in that time. It is an old Safeway store and sometimes needs a lot of TLC just to keep the cases and equipment running. It has seen a lot of co-managers and associate managers in those 5 years. It seems that it is more of a place for people to get their feet wet to see if they can handle it or move to another company. I got the market because I was the most experienced assistant ( willing to go there) and no other market manager wanted the place.
