I must say, many of those options appeal to me....
Minus the charts i always thought that putting things w/ like items all in the same place was a normal idea...kroger should be paying me all that money that whom ever thought of this is getting...i've been saying it since i walked into the store before i even worked there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh and a side note...i think TK tried to kill me today...it was scary.
i dont think this whole back room plan is goona work. nothing is goin to make the workers do more work unless they get paid more..and even then they wont work harder. department heads who couldnt keep their departments organized before still wont do it cuz they dont know how to order correctly or fix numbers in the system. all in all we are still goin to have way too much backstock and the back room will still look like ****, partly bc night crew cant do their order at night so they take up all the l-trucks so day crew cant have any to use.
At least this program has some potential usefulness, unlike having sound effects equipment installed throughout all the stores only to have it all turned off shortly after it's implementation.
You weren't here for that? It was classic! Thunder and lighning in produce, sea gulls in seafood, dogs & cats in the pet isle and the best; cows and chickens in dairy!! It lasted a week, if that.
i must say those sound effects were kinda cool. expecially the cows. it sounded so much like those cows were getting it on. so damn funny. it was even better when larry's wife was in dairy when they went off one time
They call it "Key Retailing". This probably has something to do with their corporate "4 Keys" nonsense. I could see it working in a store that has a huge backroom, but not at most normal stores that don't have any space to begin with. It's going to last for a few weeks, and then get junked when management blunders on to the fact that it's a tremendous waste of effort.
CAO, CAO, CAO. Everything in the backroom begins and ends with a good order.
Yeah, I saw the "thunder and lightning" in Produce. Pretty damned funny.
Backroom program ok with me but in summer we couldve had airconditioning first. If it was 98 outside it was 110 in the backroom. Also they just put in all new cameras in which is fine also except they forgot about the airconditioning first. Maybe they want to video employees passing out from the heat.
Parity is the answer. When a company turns a profit, it should be shared with shareholders AND what's left should be shared percentage wise equally amongst the highest paid to the lowest. That would promote a good atmosphere thus attitudes and productivity would change for the better. Think the CEO's know this? Sure they do. Do they care? Not a rats as in hell. They are reptillian.
