cry lost my step three greivence todaycry

i guess thats it for me. 12 years, shot.don't guess theres any hope of getting my job back now. are there any steps beyond this ?
have to say, i blame a lot, on how week my unio rep was. he's a nice guy, but offered no fight at all, in all three meetings.hmm
So i guess i start the long, depressing task of job hunting, during the worse job market in my lifetime. i can't wait anymore, and i just don't have any hope left i can win this.I have a wife and son, and kroger has cancelled my benifits now.
i just really don't understand how i could loose such a easy case.
but thanks for everybody that pulled for me. wish me luck, as i try to start over.

there is still arbitration as the next and last step. Arbitration is a long process and in a lot of cases has been known to take up to 6 to 12 months from the infraction, to complete. Just push the union rep to continue on with that. just do not give up total hope yet.

Remember that the Fat lady may be toning up but has not sang that final song yet.

how does it work from here ? all i got out of my rep was 'his boss takes over from here ".
one of my biggest problems during this whole ordeal, has been the lack of real communication. sure, he was always 'wer'e going to win,'just a matter of time"
but he would never tell me, step one was a doomed cause, or step two. he would always get my hopes up, that the next meeting was were we were going to win.
now, from what i've gathered from here, 1-3, are fomallity, with only a slim chance, and arbitration, is where it really turns into a fight, with kroger normally giving in, just to end it. am i asuming right?

i dont know your case but if my job was on the line and i was in the right, i would file a complaint with the national labor board and get one of their attorneys involved.

Contact your local and find out who is handling it from there. If he says hir boss is, then get their neme and contact them. Do not wait long for a responce back. Then contact the UFCW.org out of Washington and let them know what is going on and the lack of communication from your local. . Now this is the real fight now and up thru the first 3 stages, Kroger had the ultimate or final say, but now it will be an arbitrator. It will take some time. You can get another Job  and still continue the fight.

I think the important thing to take away from this came from Grumpy.

YOU CAN get another job and still fight. If it takes 8 months to get your job back and be made whole. Then they owe you 8 months of back pay. DO NOT let them do whatever they want. That is why we have a union, so we aren't like Walmart.

You payed your dues, make them work. Keep on them. Don't be passive about it. Call them over and over. the idea to go to UFCW.org is another good one.

anywoo.... Keep fighting

well, i found out, i can claim for unemployement, and still fight, since kroger has oficially terminated me.If i win, i have to pay back all the unempoyment, but if i loose, i don't. now, problem is, can i get it. kroger will fight it,  i know.
not having any luck finding a job thou, but it is early, i guess i can't expect results that quick.not a lot of jobs where i live, during the best of times.
I'm too old for this messhmm

Why even try getting your job back? Do you really, REALLY want it back? It's Kroger, remember?
