I will be transferring from a Kroger in the Houston area to one in Dallas-Fort Worth in a couple weeks, and I was told that the union is different up there. Is that true? If so, what are the differences? Do I get to keep my seniority? I have worked for Kroger about 2.5 years. Do I keep my same pay rate, vacations, etc? Will I get paid more/less?

Thank you.

unions vary, area per area, so things might change. your pay should staythe same, but no guantees. vacation , you should still get, and senority, maybe.
have to rememeber , the union is far weaker then it used to be, it doesn't carry the pull it used too.

Would love to transfer myself. I feel I don't get the credit I deserve for working hard as a bagger. I see many other baggers are great at finding ways not to work so hard. I'm freaking out working every single second I'm on the clock at Kroger and going at the pace of the checkers. They rarely acknowledge the effort put into it as well though. I always get put on schedule during the busiest time of the day.

I transferred a year ago from a Kroger in Illinois to Kentucky. The unions were different and if your experience is like mine you will keep pay, benefits, vacations ect.. but lose your seniority when it comes to scheduling. I went from the very top in seniority at my first store to the bottom and just now I have worked my way back up and will soon be full time. If you have seniority, use it and try to get a full time position before you leave.

I'm planning on tranferring from Columbus, Ohio to Myrtle Beach, SC, that was wondering that since South Carolina is not a forced union state.
