how to make a sign

can some one give me the basics on how to make a sign at kroger?  tomorrow i need to make several signs for some items in the chef's case.  what program do we use and how do you do it? do you print up a tag and scan it then push something on the gun then go intot the office and release is?

i've done tons of signs at other companys so i presume its simple.  i'm sure i can ask somebody tomorrow to just show me but any heads up would be great

If I remember correctly,
log into the rf gun and select estp, then it will show your euid and the time and date (select it) then scan the item and select the template (11x7, 3.5x11) then process it (don't remember the keys) then log into telnet in the office and select estp on there and find your batch.  Go through the steps and edit the sign, then put in the sign stock and print.  It's been a while and i might have missed steps but there are the broad strokes.  Good luck.

thank you NightStalker and welcome to the Kroger Employee Forum.  That is a good start with very helpful info on what to do (ESTP + release the batch in office).  So if i need a sign for tuna salad in the chefs case, do i key in the plu # into the hobart scale and print up a tag then scan that?

Not really too sure.  I work grocery and don't have a lot of experience with random weight stuff.  I would guess if you scanned it you would have to change it to a by the pound sign.  Like "Wild Caught Maine Lobster $9.99 per lbs".

Nooo. You don't need to attach the printer for the signs he wants.

But yes..

In your RF Gun-
ESTP
Scan To Batch
Scan the tag for the item you want. If it is a weighed item, you can use any printed tag from the deli scale.
You need to change the sign size. I don't remember what the CTRL option is to do so. But once you get in there, you will see a variety of options. For the deli case tags, the option you want is on the next page. I think it is option 8 or 9.
Function 5 will save the item.

Then you can go upstairs and print it out on the small deli card stock.

Now, this is days after you needed the info. So likely you have already done it.

How close was I to being correct?

MADE SEVERAL SIGNS YESTERDAY.

lets see, i went into ETSP and pushed #1 several times to get it rockin n' rollin'.  i scanned first item (a hobart tag) then i hit function 3 to change it to the card stock i wanted (S40 i think). had to f8 several times to scroll down to the one i needed.  then i scanned the rest of the tags.  at end i F5 to save.  walked into the office and went into ISP there and into ETSP. I think i pushed option #1 print signs and tags. then i found my EUID number and scrolled to that and hit enter.  all my tags were dumped under there.  i went to each one and had to 'toggle' them by hitting f3. i looked at the description of each one to make sure it was OK. if not i changed them to read better.  after 'toggling' them i F10 to print and they came out of the printer.

took help of several people at my store to do it for the 1st few times but now i'm a pro!
