HELLO EVERYONE.We as lead clerks are sick and tired of being payed clrk wages.Are you sick of it?We should be getting paid dept head wages.We write schedules,We write ordres,we do all the tasks that dept heads do.Right or wrong guys?Then to top it off Frozen food selling is on a all time high.People are lazy and don't want to cook,so it's to the frozen food section they go.Managment is so stupid when it comes to frozen.We all need to get together before the next contract to get better wages as frozen heads.At my store i have 1 other person.Thats only 80 hrs a week in frozen.Why the hell is the dairy manager in charge of frozen.they have no idea what it takes out of us.Nor do they even do anything at all in frozen and neither does dairy help.COME ON GUYS LETS START GOING TO THOSE MEETINGS AT THE UNION.WE CAN ACCOMPLISH MANY THINGS WITH A LARGE NUMBER OF US.
hey i take offense to the point that u said ppl r lazy and therefore buy frozen food items. i happen to be a lazy/drunk college student. and i have found out on my limited budget that canned foods r much cheaper then frozen food items. which they r just as easy and fast as putting frozen stuff in the microwave. they charge so much for the prepared food. like 5 bucks for a frozen pizza when it is on sale. for 5 bucks u can go to little ceasers and have them make it for u.
guess you got a point,but if you open a can of corn can you smell the freshness?open a bag of frozen corn and smell the difference.Beleive it or not a kroger customer pointed this out to me so i tried it and he was right.Now i use that line on customers to sell my frozen vegetables.
What city are you in? I'm the frozen food clerk in a Ft Worth Kroger store. I never get any help.My dairy mgr only gets 1 part-timer(usually a teenager).Our store runs close to $250k per week.Sometimes management pulls us off to check/retrieve carts.
stop complaing about your help if you only do 250.. try working in a store that does atleast double that and only have 2 people in your frozen counting yourself
It's going be worse after the next contract when frozen becomes responsible for all the product that has been moved to your department from meat/seafood. Right now the change is just on paper but you can bet when we renew our contract they will change who stocks those items because we are talking two differant unions.
FROZEN FOOD ONLY NEEDS 1 DAMN PERSON, YOU DAMN PEOPLE TAKE HOURS AWAY FROM GROCERY, WHO NEED IT THE MOST, FROZEN FOOD IS SO EASY, AND YOU GUYS COMPLAIN ABOUT IT, TRY TO BECAOME A GROCERY MANAGER YOU'LL NEVER MAKE IT, PLUS THEY SHOULD'NT GET PAID THE SAME AS A DEPT. I wanna tell you that I am a head frozen food clerk and I dont think that we have enough hours in my dept. I have myself that works 40 hrs and I also have another guy that is scheduled 40hrs. Nine times out of ten he is pulled to do something else but that is besides the point. I have to agree that frozen sales are at a all time high. I have 6 trucks a week that are anywhere from 350 to 600 a piece. My sales alone are up 35% from last year. I think that we people are not getting lazier, its just people now adays are starved for time. So I think that we should all get more $ b/c I know I am putting more money in someone elses pocket.
Frozen does not fall under sairy. It falls as a lead position under grocery as does dairy, and nutrition under produce. Main grocery is hard work and brings customers into the store. But I would agree that the lead frozen and dairy clerks deserve a higher rate of pay pay for two reasons...... One, the responsibility. Two, the temerature. And most importantant ....... The profit margin is higher. Frozen makes more money "per item" than grocery. If however you at a sore that is doing 250k a week, I would not cause to much commotion as that is a very small volume store. Work hard, show 'em what you got and transfer to a higher volume store, or seek a promotion from within.

I must say that it does seem you people are at each others throats which is only to Krogers benefiet, not yours as employees. A house divided.....and all.
