No Overtime!

We got a letter at my store yesterday from the zone manager that said no overtime allowed unless approved by him.  Anyone else hear anything like this.  They started cutting hours before December started at my store, so if anyone has to call in, we won't be able to call anyone to replace them in most cases.

Great decision tbh. Too often people exploit this and get extra pay that they didn't deserve.

Solution: Hire more Part-timers and screw over everyone.

yea, no OT, plus we have the 32 hours this week and next with the holiday pay it is 40. That would be okay with everyone except they cut the hours in the departments. Now we have to try to get all the work done in less time than we normaly have to do it. Yea it might be a little slow, but not that slow. Also yesterday the SM came back from a meeting and then had every DH in his office. No extra hours above what is budgeted, make sure all associates are taking lunches if working over six hours. As I have been telling everyone, thank Kroger for your great Christmas bonus, they cut your hours and make you work harder.LOL

who cares the the DM posts today.  By next week it will all but be forgotton and things will be back to normal.  When he post things like that, people get all excited and sorta obey it at first. Then they test the water a little and see what they can get by with and soon OT is back to where it was.

today my hours were cut and extra days added. Get this bull $hit, im in a area that its just me, my two days off they have some store whore doing my job, nothing nice or even sellable work she does, shes one of these womans thats 40 hour a week and keep moving her around the store because she cAn nOt seem to do anything right. So now I get 4 hour days 6 days a week, I have a dept mang.that screams @ me half the day, my old dept mang step down, he was a prince of a person and very hard worker and well liked guy. Store mang dont seem to care about anything to help you about hours ie(my other partime job working around ),2 of these days were 8 hour days with other job. The union only seems to want to help out that woman they keep moving around like they are baby sitting her, get this, we had letter from Bruce in atlanta "saying keep up good job" because we were one of the 17 stores the did a million for the week. Thats nice and all, thats right .$$$$$ I wonder if Bruce L did my new hours

It came back to bite us in the ass today!  We had 2 people in the same department call in and they had to drag people from all over the store to cover the call in because they wouldn't let any one stay over or call anyone in.

kroger needs to save money.. yet I see a ton of marked down shampoos that were once $23 on sale for $3...
Anyways, I don't understand this company in the Michigan division right now.. the union contract as of last July, the top pay for part-timers is $10/hr... that's the MAX. and only 2 weeks vacation MAX no matter how long they work here. They want pristine, perfect, hard-working employees to work as fast as jackrabbits and to treat the customers like royalty.. yet they're paying everyone wages comparable to teenagers working 10 hours per week at mcdonalds.. i don't get it! OH but don't give them overtime!! heaven forbid if you make 10 dollars per hour for less than 4 hours!

Like Royalty my @ss, @ the store I work in, the first thing on the mines of our dept mang is : get the part time labor to deal with the shoppers, store mang WILL walk away from shoppers and act like they did not here them, (very true) and then say something like,; "oh im sorry, I did not hear you". YA RIGHT.
Shoppers need to be address as guests not avoided.
I love shoppers, they make me fell good about myself when I can help out a guest in our store.
We really do have the worst customer sevice skills in most dept, labor REALY think its not their job to asst customers, dishonor group of labor worker that just dont get IT.
You heard the saying " no question is a dum question" well WHO ever wrote that sure to god never worked around kroger dum @ss labor, , good day

In our store "no overtime" doesn't seem to apply to us. We still work about 8 to 10 hours every truck night and nothing ever gets said to us about it.
