Stupid Managers!

Everywhere. They have me scheduled for double shifts because our grocery department is so understaffed due to vacations.

PS: Yet, not getting any overtime...

Management at my store takes the cake.  After our deli department has lost four employees in as many weeks, and not replacing any of their shifts, they wanna tell us how to display sandwiches and salads.

Were now not allowed to put our sandwiches or salads out with the pricetag facing the customer.  It's said that getting them to pick up the product is half the battle.  What a bunch of crap, because now we keep getting asked by customers how much everything is.  And markdowns of these products take twice as long because we have to pick up every piece on the shelf to check the date.

Add that to the fact that were usually shorthanded and no overtime, were still expected to do the same amount of work.  This going on anywhere else.

I think this goes on everywhere else, at all Krogers across the country.

It's not just your store.  It's at all the stores.  Deli merchandising says they want the customer to see the product, not the label.  I agree it's stupid.  People want to know what they're buying and how much it costs first and foremost.  Whoever came up with the idea must have their head up their butt.  I'm actually trying to get out of deli and go to frozen dept.  As soon as a spot opens up, I'm taking it.

I figured the shortstaffing and no overtime was going on all over but was wondering aobut the stupid deli display requirements.

sounds more like u don't wanna accept any guidance whether it be ur store mgmt or deli mdsg.... here's the deal it says KROGERS on the sign out front -not ur name. so like the Nike slogan -JUST DO IT!

Do u really believe that ur mgmt sits around and makes up busy work for u or ur coworkers? U need to know that they are just puppets that are heavily micro-managed by mdsg and general office. The last thing they need is some whiner constantly arguing an office mandate- do u think for one minute that they are gonna take a butt chewin because u don't want to follow company policy?

Anyway I agree about being able to see more of the product- it's an old trick to use a big price label to hide a deformed or bad portion so the customer won't find it until they get home and unwrap it! And if u'd spend less time gripin about everything that causes you to do actual work then u'd have more time to make sure proper signage is posted with the price on it so the customers wouldn't hafta bother u while ur so busy bein a negative Nelly all day long. My condolences to ur fellow coworkers that hafta listen to u complain all day about doing the job u were hired for and are gettin paid for. I think we know who's stupid now!

Go away, troll. (last anonymous poster) Hide under your bridge or go cry to your mommy, we don't care to hear from you any longer.

The OP was looking for useful information, and yours isn't. I'm assuming you don't work for Kroger, or any other company for that matter.

Please, leave this forum and don't come back.

well now, i don't need to assume about u.. it's pretty clear that when i brought the true facts into this then you couldn't handle the truth! Even in ur warped mind do u really believe any work at all would get done if you or Negative Nelly were given free reign  and didn't hafta follow any rules?

Dream on... it's dimwits like u and her that made Key Retailing necessary.

And unfortunately I am employed by Kroger as a dept head(not Deli- Thank God!) and it's always such a joy when mgmt hires someone like u or Nelly and within days you start whinin and spreading ur negativity- u were gloom and doom when u came here and u'll be gloom and doom at ur next job and all the entry level/ min wage ones after that. Boo Hooooooo

Hey that's Mr. Butthead to u dude! If you had to go in overnight for another stinkin inventory then u might be a tad bit cranky too! And to set the facts straight- I don't eat Wheaties I eat Kroger Bran Flakes and get 10% off with my loyalty card  so it's about half price of ur brand name Wheaties.

So as self appointed moderator it gives u the right to pass judgement and profile the users? Who died and made u King? Maybe we were better off with all the rude porn and no moderator?

If you want to be called Mr. Butthead that's your call.... might want to registar that name before porn addict over there gets to it first.

They are always trying to save money by not hiring new employees. If Kroger thinks it helps then I guess it does, but we can't work OT every ****ing week.

I feel like anon went about it entirely incorrectly but he did provide the fact that management is really just a heavily micro managed puppet. As far as I know that is fact. And it really doesnt help to complain at mangement or anyone you can even manage to talk to. He is a troll but really the issue is hopeless and Id hope you dont complain to the wrong people and get yourself on the bad side of someone who holds your job in their hands. Best of luck though. =/
