ExpressHR pay rates/job step?

What does the 'job step' in the profile on expressHR mean? does that have anything to do with pay raises?

yea i think that has to do with your pay rate / pay raise status. i am maxed out so i cant really look to figure it out.  mine is at 500.  doesnt it tell you how many hours you have accrued so far in the pay raise cycle.  for example - if you need 1000 hrs to earn the next 10˘ raise, it willl also tell you that so far you have 640 hrs towards that

ten cent raise...... uh let's see if i worked 40 hrs(unlikely because Kr wants everyone possible kept at part time) that would be a whopping $4.00 per week before govt deductions. after standard deductions it would be around $3.00 net per week. now what would that whopping $3 get me.... not even a full gallon of kr gas to drive back and forth from work one day. Gee I hope that these generous raises don't throw me into a higher tax bracket!!!!

what (6-7 figure salary per year) Kr. labor kingpin exec. came up with that enormous generosity? i'm worried that this wreckless spending will drive the company into bankruptcy. i think in the future raises for us bottom feeders need to be capped at 5 cent per hour raises so the CEO and his braintrust can sleep worry free at night....

in my deli there is this pretty cool young dude i talk to (you gotta talk to somebody at work & more than 3/4s of them are crazy psychos who cant hold a conversation worth crap).

anyways - he was hired in a good 2 1/2 yrs ago when he was 18 at close to minimum wage.  today the kid makes i think $8.60!  he is 21 years old!  i told him it will be close to 5 more years until he will make the maximum $13.55.  what complete bulls%it!

i tell him daily that he is worth WAY MORE than what he makes.  Go out to Home Depot or Lowes and ask for a $10.50 job based on your 3 years of retail experience.

go take a look at the ridiculous pay hike scale set up between Kroger and our Union.  its a dime here, a dime there and you must work 1000 hrs between pay rate hikes.  THATS 25 WEEKS or HALF A YEAR PEOPLE! FOR A F*CKIN' DIME!

Its only after you get into the $11 range that the pay increases are more reasonable.  Kroger shafts you if you get hired in at a very low rate (and I am sure the majority of Kroger employees get hired in for cheap) then it will take you enternity to make decent pay.

What's the difference between part time top out pay, and full time? I was working full time, left, and I came back at 10.55/hr with no "next wage increase" and job step 500, so I'm assuming I'm at the top out pay for part time right now. If I were to go full time again, what kind of wage increases could I expect?
