Hi, I have a question about requesting days off on greatpeople.me    I requested 2 days off about 2 months ago( May 18th and May 25th ), and they are still pending. May 25th I definitely need off because its my graduation day(High School).  Do they check these requests weekly, or do I need to talk to someone in person about it?

Skip your graduation day and work, it'll impress your managers.

They will be "Pending" until someone approves them. This happens the week before the date requested.

There are also cases when they don't even bother checking and/or ignore it.

Best to bring it up in person and let them know that whether approved or not you won't be showing up.

I learned this when I was first hired.

Had a school function that would take three days. Told the HR manager, told the assistant manager and told the supervisor slash manager whom actually hired me and did the paperwork on my hiring. What happens? She calls me up and tells me I am scheduled for training on one of those days. So I have to call her up and tell her that I can't. She complains about it to me and sounds bitchy over the phone. I have now learned that she is like that in person as well. I avoid her whenever possible.  I swear to god she is a witch and has magical powers. I once saw her drive off out of the parking lot then ten minutes later she was back inside the store.

That's e-schedule for you.   It could schedule everyone in at midnight and Kroger execs would still say it works.

I had a drs. appt. scheduled this past Monday and put in a request off a month ago for it.  I was scheduled to work but I was able to make my appt. by leaving an hour early.
