Big question about the time clock
Permalink

Ok..I may have a problem..Here's exactly what happened

I worked 5-11 pm on Tuesday and 8 am to 3 pm on Wednesday. At the end of my shift on Tuesday, I went to clock out but when I did the inquiry after "clocking out", it said I only worked 2.5 hours. I then thought maybe it didn't clock me out, so I clocked again and it said "record stored." I then left. After coming in the morning, I did the inquire BEFORE clocking in and it said 6.00 hours which it should've, but at 3 pm after clocking out it said 15.5 hours worked which was not right..it should've only said 13. Im wondering if it clocked me back in at 11 pm on Tuesday and since the system was down(hence why it said record stored), it clocked me back in without knowing my schedule. Why im confused is why it said 15.5 hours though. 11-8 would add 9 hrs to the 6 so it should be 15, unless it added my 30 mins of break time onto it, then it would be 15.5 hours. Also, do you think I'm off a punch and it clocked me back in at 3 pm? If thats the case, since I don't work Thursday or Friday, I'm going to be clocked in until 4 pm Saturday. I'm really confused about whats going on. Does the time clock auto-fix things like this..Like when I punched at 8 am on Wednesday, would it end my 11 pm to 8 am false clock and start my new shift but not add the hours until it evens out? Like until I work 2.5 hrs on Saturday, then it will start keeping track of my hours again? Sorry if this sounds confusing but i'm really worried i'm going to get fired :(

I don't want to keep being off a punch and staying clocked in for days at a time! But i'm thinking if thats the case, when I clocked at 3 pm, it would've said early punch in or something like that..

Make sure to tell your HR/FEM and have them check into it.

Timeclocks don't let you clock out for breaks if you aren't clocked in right? If thats the case, then I was clocked in from 8 am to 3 pm, because it let me take breaks. So, I think the timeclock fixes itself, as it didn't add those 7 hours onto the 15.5 hours already in the clock. I guess i'll find out Saturday.

My time clock let's me click out for breaks while not clocked in..I know thus because I'm called in early and they just fix it with the paper.

But I think i've tried scrolling down before clocking in before and it didn't let me. I'm just so stressed out thinking about this situation..and I don't work until Saturday. I can barely sleep at night. I know people get fired all the time for stealing time

You're not going to get fired over it if you tell someone who has access to kronos. You can punch for break without being clocked in. Just the next time you go in to work tell someone and have them look into it and make sure your hours are right.

Now stop stressing out about it.
