We've had a manager trainee in our bakery department for the past two weeks. Today he was slicing cakes for cake for two. The bakery manager and two other women were there too. He got ready to leave and the bakery manager told him he needed to clean up his mess first. He said, "That's woman's work." That was the wrong thing to say. I wasn't there, but one of the women who was there told me there quite a bit of yelling.
No. Truth is liberating. What hurts is when slob makes a mess and doesn't clean up after himself. What is he, 6 years old? A real man doesn't crap himself and then wait for someone else to wipe his ass. Especially not in the workplace, where you are paid to do work, not half-ass things and then whine when told to complete the job.
No matter who you are, you're a disgusting slob if you can't clean after yourself, let alone in front of coworkers.
If you want to talk about slobs, you should see how our shopping carts look when put out in the parking lot.
As a courtesy clerk who has to bring them in, I find trash in -- wish I was exaggerating here -- an average of seven out of ten of them.
Usually it's not THAT bad, but it still makes me disgusted at our customers. And these people are in my community? Crap, no wonder I feel so uncomfortable sometimes.
I really would like to see what the inside of their cars look like if they leave all sorts of trash in shopping carts.
The only thing I let leave is the flyers for the week. I figure people will find them and examine them. I don't consider them trash unless it's been raining and they are useless.

I agree. YOU make the mess, then YOU clean it. This goes for BOTH Genders. Case in point:
When I was a courtesy, some guy who worked in deli said to me as I was heading off to my next task that he spilled some salad dressing in the back area. I politely told him, that to make sure he puts caution cones up after he cleans it. I honestly thought he was gonna wring my neck. How DARE I tell him to clean his own mess?!?
yeah sorry (NOT) bud. YOU make the mess, YOU clean it. I got MY OWN stuff to take care of.

I hope to god that the bakery manager is all over this with the union and the store manager. To have that coming out of a manager trainee? Best to get rid of them now and save the trouble. Too bad it won't happen like that.

So, who's job is it to clean up the water mess from the leaking coolers?
I asked one of the AM courtesy clerks if he could mop up the water spill next to a leaky cooler. He said, "Not now, I need to clean the bathrooms. I don't have time." I foolishly replied, "Well, when a customer slips, breaks arm, sues Kroger and our store closes, we will all have plenty of time." He did it and we both apologized to each other for comments. I will let the CSM ask them next time.
Of course, I needed toilet paper this morning and it was empty! Last time I smart off to a courtesy clerk..

You all need to go to the union about this. Stop this guy from becoming a manager.
