Insurance Reduction to Part Time Coverage
Permalink

I began receiving full time benefits 6/1 after 12 consecutive weeks at 30+ hrs.

I got a letter today stating I have been reduced to part time coverage 8/1.  My hours haven't changed.

I went to a dentist to get a treatment plan for restorative treatment.  Is that why my insurance was changed?

What state are you in?

It depends on what your contract spells out.

For me, I am eligible for the same insuarance as full time if I work more than 32 hours a week.

All that means is that my dependents can be insured.  I do not have any dependents so it doesn't make any difference to me.

I am in Michigan.  If I average less than 20 hours a week, then my insurance can be paused for a quarter until I average more than 20 hours a week.  Anyone on a later contract can have their insurance paused if they average less then 24 hours a week.

I'm in Georgia.

I am eligible for full time benefits if I work 30 hours a week.

I don't have dependents. My hours have not decreased.

Something isn't right.

Health co-pay YTD 9/4 $125.50

Health co-pay YTD 9/11 $80.50.  That $45 difference isn't in my pay check.

If something is too good to be true, it usually is.
