This is kind of a silly rant, but i wanted to know if this happens to anyone else.
Sometimes a customer will stand right by me as i'm bagging their groceries. I find it it silly and annoying at the same time. I could understand if they were helping me bag but they aren't even monitoring my bagging, just looking straight ahead. It doesn't make me nervous but i do like my personal space, especially when bagging.
And the worst part? Management can and will DEFINATELY have a bitch fit if you ask a customer to back off; EVEN if they'r in YOUR peronal space. Ive been bitched at many times for saying something. And i STILL continue to say something if they are too close. I DO NOT care if i offend or not, its MY personalspace that you are in. You WILL stay out.
Ha ha, personal space, what's that? Kroger owns you, your body, your time, your mind, and the space immediately around your body. It's sort of like how countries own the airspace above them. And, since you are leased to the public in a kind of pimping-out program, what's yours is also the customer's. You should be grateful you're allowed to wear a uniform, and not have to be naked and in chains!
I don't like it when customers reach over and scan their Kroger card on my scanner. Bugs me.
If I can do it quick enough, I secure the register and watch them swipe repeatedly to no avail. They'll eventually have to hand it over and I sign on and scan it, all while explaining that it's because they aren't supposed to reach around like that onto the checklane.

I feel so evil.
That's not evil, that's awesome. I'm gonna try that.
I hate when people do that. Especially the ones that don't speak to you one word. Just treat you like a self-checkout machine made of flesh.

I secure mine if they do anything to bother me and then go to put their number in on the pinpad because they'll never know I did it. (number one offense for me is not emptying a basket, just setting it on the belt and it's full of heavy stuff)
