Wearing sweater on front end.

A CSM told me today to take off my sweater. Her exact words were: "That needs to be taken off. You can't wear it inside." I've worn the same sweater all day, every day and nobody ever said a word, not even the store manager.  She also told a cashier the same thing. I wore the sweater ALL day and it took her until the last hour of my shift to tell me to take it off. I'm not understanding why she's the only one who has told me to take it off. I wore it in front of the store manager today and he said nothing. The sweater wasn't covering my name tag so I really don't see what the big deal is.

It's company policy but most aren't heartless enough to enforce it.

You would think by now that Kroger would include a cheap jacket in the uniform package at the least.

As long as the sweater is black and is worn underneath the shirt rather than over it, it's never been a problem where I work, but then again, other stores may be different.

The manager likely saw it and told the CSM to tell you to remove it. That's how it works in my store; they expect that stuff on the front end to be policed by the person in charge of the front end.

I wear a big ass jacket in the winter months and I'll be damned if they want me to take it off when it's freezing inside and outside the store. I will not be forced to be cold and be worked to death at the same time in the middle of a snow storm. screw that.
