......how customers go out of their way to clear off a shelve that has sale items on it, but skip over the few items that has loose labels on them.
It makes you wonder. Would these same customers pass up a loose labeled item even during a national food shortage when there's a mad dash for groceries? 100% of the time people are just gonna rip open the package or jar and pour out the contents inside anyway. And then turn around and throw the empty jar/package into the trash. So why be so picky.....
Those boxes look terrible! Is the whole store like that? If I had a choice between a label or no label, I would choose the label. Our store would mark those down and put them in the markdown bin. But we did just had a remodel so we are all hoity toity now. (come and get me spell checkers lol!)
SRP was one of the worst things to happen. A few things are made easier, but in general it just makes everything look bad. Walk down veggie aisle towards the end of the day and you'll have piles of empty cardboard sitting in the shelf looking terrible. As if we were one of those discount markets that make you bag your own groceries.

But we saved that time to waste time dragging around pallets! They're doing tray cuts at least, we quit that here. By the evenings unless grocery gets conditioned (and even then) there is a bunch of cardboard on the floor.

Tray cuts are actually still prohibited here, but some of the SRP have the boxes so deep, that you can't even see the label of what you're buying, or stick your hand in and pick one out without tearing the cardboard, so we do it for those anyway.

For Kroger canned vegetables and fruits, there should be a big text label on the shelf strip saying "BABY CORN" or "TOMATOES" for the different goods.
