We've had a peppermint overload in the bakery.  We have 5 buckets of peppermint icing.  We have peppermint brownies, peppermint cupcakes, peppermint bark, several varieties of peppermint cookies.  We even have peppermint donuts.  The only peppermint thing we don't have is peppermint bread.

I wanted to make peppermint brownies yesterday and my manger flipped out saying NO WE CAN'T DO THAT WE DON'T HAVE A LABEL FOR IT.

So now we have buckets of icing that probably won't be used before the 25th.

So does your manager expect them to come up with a label for every flavor of icing they happen to send out?  The main ingredients in the icings are probably all the same.  The only thing that changes is the flavoring and the color, and that's usually listed as natural and artificial flavoring and color.  All you have to do is write, "Peppermint" on the label.

Peppermint cupcakes.

We had an excess of those. They're pretty good, although I did feel a bit nauseous after eating a couple.

Oh, irony.

If you want to get your ass in a sling with the Health Department or P&G inspectors (are you guys still doing that?), then go ahead and do that. I've been there and it's not fun. Some health departments love to make you're life a living hell (Marion County, I'm looking at you) while others just say get rid of it and don't do it again.

Thanks Drone!  My daughter has severe allergic reations to things so I like to know exactly what's in the food I buy.

I get that about allergies. But we have no special label for peppermint cupcakes either, so that doesn't really explain why.

We've gotten buckets of chocolate whippy icing, strawberry whippy icing, lemon whippy icing, and dulce de leche whippy icing.  Do they come out with individual labels for those?  NO.  If a customer really needs to know what the ingredients are, they can always ask  and we can get it off the label on the bucket.  We don't put list the ingredients on our donuts either.  You go to a regular bakery and they don't put ingredient lists on their items either.  They do have to provide a list of ingredients if a customer asks for it though or if the item is being made to sell at another location.

We also got in a lot of peppermint buttercreme and roll icing. You can call your main office for whoever handles the deli/bakery merchandising and they will sent out stickers that say peppermint on them. Sort of like the flavored whippy icing stickers, this is in the Columbus division. When you are using the flavored whippy icings you have to use the labels for those too.

I also found peppermint roll icing.  Cinnamon rolls with peppermint icing: How does that sound?
