Sorry, I need to rant! I wish that certain people would realize just how impossible the expectations Kroger has for their employees. Let's see: Courtesy clerks are suppose to sack groceries but not put too many items in the bag, they might break because Kroger uses those cheap bags, but put as much as you can because you don't want to waste bags. Be friendly and smile even though you're freezing to death in the icy rain! Cashiers, be fast and friendly even though the customer is constantly telling you something rang up wrong, that it was on sale and you explain to them that "Yes, it comes off at the end. Every week, it's the same thing! Being a CSM, I feel for my front end employees and the surge help! I don't blame them, I would get tired of being constantly called. My job: go over the books and make sure there's you know, another department needed to borrow someone. And all this while spending your 8 hours on the floor where you belong! Urg>>>>
Thank you! I'm a CC and there's days where enough is enough. Doing carts when it's 10° outside is horrible. It's SO hard to be friendly when my fingers are about to fall off and I can't feel my face. Nobody understands how hard we have it. If it's not one thing, it's another. The front end is a lot more stressful than it seems.

Rant over!
Baggers will get better with experience. It's not that hard to bag groceries. You should be able to learn to bag in a week or two. It's not that hard.
Cashiers being friendly shouldn't be a problem. Yes, things will always ring up wrong. Do a price check. Spend that time scanning the rest of the order. If you need to, total the sale for them and show them the discount or sale price, then continue with the order. Don't make it harder than it has to be. Surely since these things come up each and every single day you should be able to handle it without stressing or getting angry about it. Focus on the solution, not the problem and it's a lot easier to smile.
Also, why do people feel that it's completely fine to load up one of the baby carts? If you have six fulcking children and you're using up your whole month's worth of WIC, then you should probably know that using a regular cart is the smartest way to go. "Oh they fill up so fast, never would've guessed!" Well that just show's how awful you are at planning your shopping endeavors or possibly how undisciplined you are at sticking to a list. By the way, a cashier unloading that lower level of the basket can add anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to your checkout time as opposed to using a regular cart. You're nothing special and you never will be!!!
Oh yes, smile and be helpful while pushing in rows of 7 carts for 30 minutes at a time when the windchill is -25... After all, there is free hot chocolate to make up for the frostbite.
Be fast and efficient when the bags start ripping.
Stop everything for cold gobacks, get stopped by customers who need help, then get paged because you have been gone for more than 2 minutes..
Do the trash quickly. When the cheap gags start ripping and trash goes everywhere, well, just hurry..
Sorry, I don't know what happened, it looks like I finished a sentence in the middle of another one! lol It was right before bed after a long day! I was trying to say, they expect me to go behind the bookkeeper and make sure everything is correct, go over all the reports and make sure nothing funny is going on. I have to make sure we have enough help and stay within the hours given (never happens) I think I'll scream if the manager asks me again why we don't have enough help when I just got chewed out for going over in hours! Why am I responsible for hanging the schedules for every department when I get yelled at for leaving the floor? Not to mention I'm the Cultural Council Lead and I never have time for that! I am pulled in so many directions, I just want to hurt someone!
Thanks for letting me get this off mt chest, I feel so much better!
