A few months ago i got moved to a different department and got a raise and then i got moved back to a bagger .and they took my raise are they aloud to do that.
In most cases yes. Utility Clerks wages are on different from Grocery Clerks. I know of only one instance where an employee was able to keep their pay and moved to a bagger. They were the salad bar attendant and the store did away with the position. This was many years ago. As far as I know, he is still a bagger w/ close to 30 years of seniority.
I did work in another department for almost a year (hired as a bagger) because they were understaffed when compared to the workload but they moved me to bagger and they kept me at the part time clerk scale because they aren't allowed to cut pay if they move you to a different wage scale, even if you mess up. The only way you take a paycut is you step down from DH, ADH, or not hold a lead clerk position for the required 6 or 12 months. I'm perfectly fine pushing carts for $8.50 an hour and climbing to $12.
