Availability Changes while on Leave
Permalink

From April to December, my availability has changed from what days I need off (April - MWF, August-December, TR) but the consistent thing has been 11pm is the absolute latest. I did it to get the hell of self-checkout because the overnight person is one of the worst people I've ever met and customers after 11 were so snippy it killed my mood. (I'd been on it straight since September!)

The legitimate reason is that I don't have a car, I ride my bike, and no one else gets off after 11. I don't want to inconvenience people, etc etc.

After the semester ended in December, they cancelled it. And I said no, it's not 11 because of school, it's 11 because of life. So that was a big to-do.

I'm in India right now and going back this week. My leave ends May 31st. Is there anything I can do to make sure my availability is still set to 11 on eschedule, or do I need to wait until I can actually talk to someone? (I have an even more valid reason now as I have moved across town and am still car-less and all that jazz. I only want it til 11 so I can get customer service shifts. If I were to actually rely on the bus, it would have to be 10:30. Ugh, love the south)

Also! Transfer basics! Make sure the store in question is hiring, then talk to my manager, right?

Just tell your manager you don't have transportation and you are not about to walk that late at night.  I used to walk to work but it took me 9 minutes from the Kroger door to my front door.  I hustled though.
