shrink in a market can be this much. $1100 worth of loss. Sad think is that the employee that left this out can not be disciplined because the store management is afraid to to write-ups because of staffing problems. This had been done 3 times in one period and now management wants to get rid of him. But without any write-ups there is nothing theymeat rack.jpg can do.

Just keep track and talk to your meat coordinator.. or whoever is over meat in your district.

Did they leave it in the cutting room?

Because even if it wasn't wrapped in the shrink-wrap, then put in the cooler, it would be fine. The only way that would be shrink, is if they left it sitting out of the cooler.

Is he doing it on purpose?  I mean it's kind of obvious, it's a large rack.  Who could miss it?

this is stuff that is done on  frequent times. meat MR and district 7 of the Dallas area does know about it And the store management does not seem to care enough to do anything about it. Seems that paying overtime for getting rid of some one has more presidents than disposing of $1100 in meat every so many weeks.

yes this is left in the cutting room but with two main defrost cycles at 10 pm and one at 5 am will bring temps up high and Houston and local health departments say it is to be disposed of.

Every documentation that I have and request for management to follow up on is copied and sent to my local union business agent.  That way when store and district management desides to do something about a high shrink department then My ass is covered and I have my documentation of known loss and actions not taken my store and district management.

Its Krogers money if they want to shrink it out then there is no reason for me to try to stop it if store, district and meat MR does not want to deal with it.

Sorry can't help with that one but a bit of a thread hijack. Are they taking your grinders out any time soon? I'm in D9 Shreveport/Bossier LA and we're loosing our's at the end of the year due to health liability concerns, I've worked for Kroger for almost 9 years and we've never had any complaints.

Scan it out as uninsured store loss.  It will show up on a 709 and your store manager will freak, which is good.

do not know on the Grinder but we are to son start getting 4 pound fluff pack ground beef for the service cases soon. I could see the grinder going away in the future except for one thing to be worked out. What to do with the trimmings. Wanting to promote Texas beef, they took all the select and knife ready trimmed beef out of our store and went with all Nolan Ryan Beef.

 Trash can, most likely.

Kroger wants to imitate Walmart when it comes to the meat dept. They want to turn all meat employees into glorified grocery clerks.

Those have to be specialty shops if they are looking better than Kroger.
