So there's a sale going on at my store on meat. I think it's. Boneless chuck roast or something of the sorts. Anyways there's incredible savings on it. A lady bought about $279 worth of it because she was having a quincenara or something. I start to scan and the transaction is done, but I needed a manager's approval. Apparently this lady saved $397.58 on the meat. Can I get in trouble for not documenting this?

I'm sure the system will document the Override and what it was. Worst that'll happen is they'll ask you about it. This happens from time to time with Apparel when it goes on Clearance and people save a ton of money on that. When it prompts for an override, they usually ask "What's it for?" and you tell them, then they override it and you never hear about it again.

If you're really worried about it, bring it up to a PIC next time you see one and ask them what the procedure is for future reference and if you should let them know. Nothing you can do about it now beyond that.

The only way you would get in trouble is if there was a limit.  A lot of times there is.  Like ribs - limit two with a ten dollar purchase.  We used to have a lady that would come in when rib eyes went on sale.  She would buy two, go to her car and then come back in.  Management tried to stop her so she sent her husband in.  She kept sneaking in and out of the store to get more rib eyes.

I would think they could put the limit on their Kroger Plus Card.  I know whenever we get free stuff you can only get it for free once.  I don't see why they couldn't do it for other sale items.

Probably because the sales can last for 2 weeks, putting a one time limit would hurt business.

They could probably fix it so it resets each day at midnight.  You buy the limit one day.  The next day you buy the limit again etc.

True, I don't know why they don't do that.   I know we always have issues with our 3 day sales, particularly gatorade/powerade @ 0.49$, little debbies, @ frozen catfish.  Limit 15 on the powerade, yet people bring up baskets full and cashiers honor it due to "make it right".  Out of stock after the first day and angry customers.
