We'll be allowing chip-and-signature cards in our store starting next week. These are the cards you insert at the bottom of the card reader and hold for a few seconds while it processes payment. Any of y'all have experiences with these already? Any potential problems? I've heard something about how we lose money if they don't press the correct option or swipe, any one know details? Thanks!
Your talking about the Radio Frequency Chip cards. I got one a couple of weeks ago and used it at another retail chain store, without any problems so it will probably be the same at Kroger. But I've heard that there is a privacy problem people can hack your card, and you need to use a RF blocker like a block it pocket. I see a stupid commercial just about everyday of a different brand of RF blocker but can't remember the name of it.

No, he's not. An RFID wouldn't need to be inserted in anything, hence the use of "RF".
One major problem really are the impatient customers. It takes a few seconds for the process to take place. Imagine having to retrain an entire population to switch from a swipe that lasts a fraction of a second to the "insert for a few seconds" routine. You'll definitely have customers removing the cards too soon, forcing them to start over.
Right, not talking about RFID cards, rather the EMV cards, the ones that have a chip in them and you sign (or in some cases use a PIN) for. But yea, people removing the cards too soon and people forgetting to take their card seem to be the top two issues other stores are having.
And of course in typical Kroger fashion, the rollout in our store was delayed till the 12th.
