So I just recently completed my orientation for Ralph's, and I'm pretty sure I'm scheduled to start next week. The problem is, the orientation was in a different store than the one I will be working at, and I did not get to learn much at the orientation itself anyways. I'm assuming on my first day I'll have to go to the back of the store and let one of the managers know it's my first day so that they can find someone to train me and show me where everything is? Otherwise I would have no clue how to get started. And California passed a law a year ago where plastic bags are 10 cents each. So I'm assuming that while bagging, I have to check if the customer has their own bag and if they don't I ask "Would you like me to bag these?" I am probably making this a bigger deal than it really is, but I tend to get irritated when things are not organized well enough for someone to understand.
Oh dear. Is your system in for a shock when you start working at Kroger/Ralphs. :) Organization plans are in place. It depends on how organized the store managers want to be.
Most likely, you will start at the store you applied to, not the store you trained at.
Normally, you will follow someone with more time for a couple of hours if not days to teach you the ropes.
Being a CC is not rocket science. You will do just fine once you get inside the building and start working.
I'd always wondered how Californian Courtesy Clerks bagged groceries. Do you charge for paper bags or does everyone bring in those cloth bags that always seem to smell of cigarette smoke and are cover in ungodly amounts of pet fur and lent.

Covered in LENT? LOL!
Yup, those bags are always cover in an coat of ineligious observance in the liturgical calendar of many Christian denominations that begins on Ash Wednesday and covers a period of approximately six weeks before Easter Sunday
