One of the supervisors on Sunday asked me if I could work next Monday (I'm normally unavailable). They kind of forced me into saying yes - I said no at first a few times but they kept insisting and getting more pushy so finally I said I would. I thought that was the end of it and they would write the schedule with me working on Monday. I looked at the schedule this week and it says "unavailable" like normal so I'm assuming someone else wrote the schedule. I don't know what to do now. Can they penalize me if I don't come in? I really didn't want to come in anyway.

Whatever you do, don't call your supervisor and ask them about it. I'm sure someone on this forum will be able to tell you if you should work or not.

I don't want to talk to my supervisor about it, because I'm sure they'll tell me "you should come in" and I'd like to avoid that. I just want to know if you can get in trouble for not coming in if the official schedule doesn't say you should come in.

No, you can't get in trouble for not working a shift you're not scheduled for. The only person who can tell you to come in for a shift is your managers.

Always follow the schedule that is posted in the store. It is the finalized one and overrides the online schedule. You can't get in trouble by following the posted schedule in the store regardless of what your overlord says.

That is correct, you cannot get in trouble for not working an unscheduled shift. However, you agreed to work however coerced you feel you were, so if you want to salvage your reputation I suggest you call for verification or at the very least call to let them know you changed your mind and cannot make it in.

Think about it from the other side, a manager needs help, so they ask you to come in, you agree so they leave it at that. Then comes the day you were to come in and you no show and now the department is screwed, during the busiest week of the year no less.

Please learn to say no, it will make both your life and the life of wherever you work easier. They can move onto somebody else to ask to cover and you won't be a dishonest person.

Follow your schedule as it's printed. If they penciled in say, 10am to 6:45 after badgering you to come in, then do it. If the printed schedule still says 'Unavail' then follow the one that says 'Unavail'

NEVER let them get pushy and badger you into coming in on an unavail day. If you are unavail then the only thing left to do is DEAL WITH IT, call someone else to cover the shift.

When they badger me, I tend to get REALLY, REALLY, stubborn and NOT budge from my answer

If you are unavailable then that's all you have to say.  As far as management badgering I would kindly explain that I've said no, I'm not available, I'm not coming in, but thank you for asking 5 times, smile and walk off.
