Getting tired of this
Permalink

It seems like almost every day I'm being asked to stay extra.  I could use the extra money, but I wish they would just schedule me that way to begin with so I can actually make plans and know when I'm going to be home. It makes no sense why they're scheduling me for 4 hours and then ask me to stay 8 as soon as I get into the store. I don't get it. It's not like it's because people are calling off, it's just that they're understaffed on the schedule.

It also puts me in the position to say no sometimes and then they get mad.

Don't let them get you down. I am tired of being constantly called up front to bag. Sometimes it is because they won't schedule enough baggers, but usually it is because they are hiding in the bathrooms or in the back. and it pisses me off when some smart ass  red vest wearin dip**** wants to jump on my ass if i don't get up fast enough for them. So i say in the spirit of FRESH and FRIENDLY......**** EM!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I know what you mean with that. They do the same to me, and then they call on my off day wanting me to go to work. I just don't pick up the calls anymore.

Because kroger doesn't want to give anyone full time status period, they are only willing give you a minmum amount of time officially and the rest is off the books so upper management doesn't get chewed out for going over the department hours  allotted for that one department.I know its B.S but sometimes you can play it in your favor to get full time status by working over and gaining the hours for 8 weeks straight to be considered full time. But keep your mouth shut about it because management f**ks up and not notice it a lot before its to late they cannot try to bumo your hours down.

But then you have to continue to work the full time hours or they knock you back down to part time.  They can do it.

They did that to me all the time until I finally just told them "sorry, my ride is waiting" and left.  I could have used the money but I just got tired of being told at the last minute they wanted me to stay.  Put it on the schedule.
