What are the rules on firing people? Have a copy of the Union contract but it looks like it says nothing about the disciplinary process.

You can be fired for anything they want to fire you for or nothing at all. The union can just pad the hurt.

It can vary from state to state but I've always thought it goes:

Verbal (1-2x)
Write up (3x MUST be for SAME offense)
Suspension (1x)
Terminaton

For those on probation:

If they don't like the way your hair is combed or the way you blink you're gone
