We have inspections from the district manager every on Tuesdays and Fridays. Yesterday was even more important because several people from corporate came too. I heard the produce and deli/bakery departments each got a score of 7 (I'm assuming out of 10). The rest of the store got a 2.

You guys get chewed out by your store manager and what department r u in
The dm comes in twice a week? Your store must already be on the **** list or about to close.
Nope, we had a major expansion about two years ago. We went from 85,000 sq. ft. to 109,000 sq. ft. The problem is they overestimated how much money the store would bring in and they're not making back the money they spent fast enough according to the budget they made out. We're actually one of the top stores in sales in the division. The problem is they have this huge store and not enough people, or should I say not enough good people to stock it. The backroom is a disaster. Automated ordering is ordering all this product and it's not being put out and it just keeps piling up.

I'm the head baker in the bakery department. If they were going to say anything bad, it wasn't going to be because the bread tables weren't full or things weren't tag properly.

Forgot to mention there are three other stores that have inspections twice a week. They're all big stores too that have recently been remodeled/expanded.
It's easy for these higher ups to come in and spout off how this and that are wrong, yet don't actually take the time or the effort to sit down with people that actually work in these stores and find out why this and that are wrong. They just come in, criticize, and then head back to their comfy offices or a fancy restaurant where they stroke one another's egos over how good of job they themselves are doing.
Maybe I'd respect these people a bit more if they actually stuck around and worked with us to fix these problems and address the root cause of the problems so that come the next visit, the problems wouldn't exist or wouldn't be as severe, but you know, that would require these people to actually care about more than just money.
If they come in and everything looks straight and pretty..your dept will magically lose hours. If you can do all that with that little hours, you have too many.
