1.  A telephone screening process by out of state screeners that just confirm your application info.

2. 8 hours of unnecessary bull**** employment training that had nothing to do remotely with my position just to give someone else (the trainer) something to do with her time.

3.  Over two weeks spent waiting after getting hired one for the background check one week and then for another week waiting for another store to call them back and ok me training there which never happened so I just had to train at the store I was at.

4.  An extortionist Union.  The Union guy I met with when I went to the Union office lied and said I would have to pay $50 right away even though I had 6 to 8 weeks till I actually would start getting initiation fees and membership fees deducted from my paycheck.  The guy was built like a footballer and very intimidating.  Even though he couldn't read the letter l he thought it was an i.  Well I paid up thinking I would get protection under the union guess what you can be fired during probation for anything or nothing and no one from the union will help you file a grievance.  Would have been nice for me to know that before I wasted my $$ on their racketeering scheme.  Not a real union.  Don't fall for it.  They don't even have a back up steward for Christ sake.

5.  Safety training but no supplies no gloves, no shoe protectors, no hairnets.

6.  Had to buy my own hat and was given zero equipment for the job.

7.  A discriminatory management where over 95% of the employees are of Hispanic descent.  Being talked about in Spanish and not being able to do anything about it when its your own manager talking about you to another co-worker.

8.  A disconnected store.  No group meetings to focus on sales goals or ads.  Very fragmented departments.  Each for their own.  No HR.  Bookeepers are also part time workers.

9.  Having so many part-time workers, and 98% of the workers are part time only leads get close to full time-- makes it so that everyone is very envious of new people and think their hours will be stolen instead of welcoming on an accepting co-workers.  Of course its normal to have a jumping in time period but after that in a job generally you are made to feel welcome.

10.  Head up the ass management.  Management could care less about the workers except for those they are related to or can flirt with.  Many people at the store are related and someones grandchild or child or sister or cousin this shouldn't be allowed.

11.  Managment plays games passing off valid questions and complaints among employees to other managers in a revolving circle of unhelpful "I don't handle that"  ask so and so, get to so and so, "Oh no thats this other persons responsibility.  Ask them.  And on and on.

12.  A real unclear stand against customer policy.  On one hand they want to cut down on waste on the other they waste untold amounts of product for no reason but that the customers are picky.  Take a stand and have some sort of store policy in place so that customers are not constantly taking advantage of workers and the business.

13.  Hire leads who are not going to field new workers to see which ones will sleep with them.

14.  Hire managers who know how to manage people effectively and people skills.

15.  Do not encourage corrupt management that actively practice discrimination.

16.  Abuse in the workplace should not be encouraged by managers.

Follow employees schedules.  If you are hired on being able to work 7 days a week but need specific hours off for school or one car household or another part time job. Then if they agree to hire you knowing you have limited availability but are still available for huge chunks of time and sometimes 24 hours of a  few days or nights a week then when it comes to scheduling don't punish people with the schedule.

Don't schedule them outside of those hours you have plenty of people to play around with on the schedule.  Why make it a personal vendetta to purposefully schedule so that peoples lives are going to be screwed up when you schedule them outside of times they can work.

Actually follow the supposed ethics and "core values" of the corporation kind of hard to do because people are ethical or not, not corporations!

I don't care how much money you donate to help feed America if you pay people minimum wage you are helping to NOT feed

America.

All the managers but the head manager are all not even breaking into the middle class pay scale.  This is 15 years of work and people still making top out pay of $14.00 an hour!

Stop acting like your special because so many customers stop and ask you questions.  It's because there is no customer service desk and we are severely understaffed.

Schedule breaks or schedule in relief so that you are not breaking the law by having people work when they should be on lunch.

Then when they try to take a break you yell at them about it being too late and the management will get dinged.

Well why didn't they let you go earlier then?

Reward hard work and effort.  Lazyness and gossips should not move quicker up the hierarchall ladder.  Ineptness and carlessness should never be rewarded.

I thought you only joined the union AFTER probation? It's a waste of money to join during probation being as during that time, you can be fired for just having a pice of lint land on your shoulder

In ohio at least, you pay the union dues/initiation while you're in your probation period, so you're paying to join but yeah up to 90 days they can't even do anything if you get fired.

Thats why i said id pay AFTER my probation. for the simple fact of them not doing anything if you get fired EVEN IF you paid and joined up. If im paying to join something or do something and its a sizable chunk of change, then i expect them do keep up on their end
