Frozen Tips?

Hello, I've been working in the frozen department of my store for about 5 months now. The other day I had a "meeting" with one of my managers saying that I'm too slow. I work hard, dont really talk to anyone, focus on my work. Not really sure what I'm doing wrong, but if I dont improve, they're gonna put me on front end, and **** that noise.

We usually get between 200-300 items a day, it takes me 4 hours to finish a double stacked pallet with about 80 items on it by myself. There's usually 2 of us, so we get our work done everyday.

Any general tips on how to stock faster, bonus points if related to frozen. I've worked there long enough that I've memerized where everything goes. Not sure how else I can improve.

You should probably be running 40-60 cases an hour.  I have never looked at a frozen DDP so I am not sure.  Use both hands.  Grab more than one product at a time.

Ice cream is the most annoying.   That usually gets ran first.

Do you break the truck down onto Lcarts?  The correct way to run pallets is to roll them onto the floor wrapped in a blanket and run directly off the pallets.

I run about 300 cases in dry grocery in 5 hours.

Sometimes, I wish they would send me to the front end...

The absolute best tip, minimize walking. That's what takes up all of your time.

If pallet is mixed aisles then break down on U-boats by aisle.  If pallet is all on the same aisle then stock directly from pallet.  Stock ice cream directly from the pallet, it is usually all together on the same pallet.  The less times you handle a case the more time you save.  Make sure you are only away from the work area for 15 minutes for breaks.  Condition as you stock.  Work 1 aisle, complete it then go to the next aisle.  Work as a team with the other employee, maybe one guy on one side of the aisle and the other on the other side of the aisle and meet in the middle.   Dont make a lot of trips to the bailer, freezer, bathroom, etc.

You have help?!?! I do not.  Ever.  Consider yourself lucky.  Ive been doing frozen for a few months now.  Work one aisle at a time.  Work directly from the pallet.  You'll waste more time trying to break it down. The standard is 55 cases.  I usually can get a 450 case truck done in 8 hours plus ordering and everything else that this job entails.  Use the stacker to split double stacked pallets apart if possible.  I usually park the pallet in the middle of the aisle or closest to whatever it has most of. Example: lc and stouffer meals ill park the pallet in between both so you're not walking a ton. Also if you can keep your freezer clean that will help so you can get your things in and out easier.  It takes a ton of time to clean or pull multiple pallets out just to get yours versus making the space to pull just yours out.
