A customer came in today, my 30 min of work, and 'To tell me I did a good job on the chicken the other day.
I remembered that customer cause they waited the 17 minutes for it to cook. When I pulled it up and tempt it the temp said 150. I apologized to the customer and told them I was going to drop it another 4 minutes cause I wanted to make sure the chicken was done before I served it to them. When it finally tempt right I served it.
After the customer told me I did a good job I said "Thank you." Then said Let my manager know what a good job I'm doing."
No, it isn't wrong to do that. Hell they want us to basically shove the customer survey stuff down every customer's threat... At least that way this was more direct (and they might leave a comment too). I personally hate doing that, I hate feeling pushy like a salesman. I'd rather they independently do that, but too each their own.
Good job nonetheless. Others would've got it out as quick as possible but you out that person' best interest first.
WOW! I simply asked a question because I felt like maybe I approached it wrong and then I get a sarcastic reply. Why be so negative or sarcastic?
Maybe anon is jealous he/she NEVER got/gets good surveys. We are SUPPOSED to ask happy customers for surveys and ask them to let management know how we see doing. It's part of the job and therefore required. You did NOTJING wrong by asking the customer to let management know you did a good job. Ignore the negative sarcastic naysayers
