Trapped in the front

I have worked grocery at Wal-Mart in the past and I know how to stock shelves and I can "condition" really well, but when I was hired at Kroger the GM felt I wasn't suited for anywhere else at the moment but being a courtesy clerk (i had gotten out of the hospital with kidney surgery about a month prior and i think i sold myself really short during the interview).

I proved to be a very good courtesy clerk and now I have been moved up as a cashier. The GM wants me to get proficient with IPM and that sort of thing before he moves me forward to other places and I don't have a problem with that but there have been kids and people automatically moved to grocery pull up or produce clerk which are two positions i have wanted. I don't quite understand their logic but I am doing ok up front I just hate being confined to a register, I like to be on the move.

All hell has apparently broke loose as our front end manager quit as she and one of the co managers had some sort of altercation and the assistant front end manager was already taking a promotion to be a manager on deck.  I am keeping my nose clean and staying out of it all.

I like what I do for the most part and like the people both customers and coworkers at where I work.
