Rehiring

So I've been working at McDonald's for a few weeks now and I hate it there. Everyone talked me into working there saying how it would be better than Kroger also my sister works there.  I honestly want to get rehired at Kroger again. Retail is a lot better than fast food. I felt I made a big mistake leaving Kroger for McDonhells. Should I give my two weeks in to McDonald's and reapply at my old store? My old HR manager even told me they would rehire me back if I hate McDonald's. They really didn't want to see me go.  I lost all my senoirty there and I had more hours there also didn't smell awful. My mom is yelling at me basically to stay at McDonald's and calling me a whimp. Doesn't help.  I honestly do not like it there at all. I would rather go back to Kroger anyday. So much more to do there and had  great experiences there. How I go about repplying?  Go and talk to my old managers personally about my situation? Or go fill out an application online for another position? Thanks in advance.

What do you do at McDonald's?

What did you do at Kroger?

Very important to know.

You have to do what makes you happy. If you are unhappy at McDonald's and would be happier back at Kroger, then that's what you need to do; regardless what your mom or anyone else says.

Give your old store a heads up before you put in a new application - which is most likely what you will need to do. Go in to your old store or call and speak with the co-manager over HR or whatever the equivalent is in your division. Let that person know that you'll be reapplying and that you hope to rejoin the Kroger family. This way, he or she can keep an eye out for you application in the system and you'll stand a better chance of getting your job back at Kroger sooner rather than later. If you want to go back to the department you were working in before you quit, let the co-manager over HR know and reapply for that position on your application. There is no guarantee you'll get your old position back, but making your interest known is important.

I could be wrong about this, but I thought i'd heard before that in some situations, you have a certain time period to be able to get your seniority back.

Did you fall off the tater truck? Why would you want to go back to Kroger?

Son I am just saying I have to agree with your mother. I thought we raised you with sense.

Guess I was wrong.
