I am meat cutter in a busy store with a bad DH. Should I bid and try to go to store that is closer to me, even if it's not meat?

How long have you worked for Kroger? You can't transfer unless you've worked for Kroger for a year. You can give your 2 weeks notice work your 2 weeks without missing or being late one day, then reapply for the other Kroger. At least this is what I've been told.

Where do you guys get the "quit before you can transfer"? That means you end your employment at the company. You lose seniority, pay, vacation days... Everything. Giving 2 weeks notice means "sayonara, I'm outta here. I resign. I quit." You would have to go through the hiring process again, the drug testing, background check... Why is this a good advise?

Transfer is something completely different. You just going to work to different store. Same company. As if you were working for any office or company that has offices or factories in other places. You just get a transfer. You don't quit to move.

Most Meat and Seafood department clerks are on a separate contract than the rest of the employees in the store.  You would have to sign a bid for the Meat and Sea food department.

Do NOT quit.  Here, we turn in an energy clause to the store closest to where you live.  Then, wait for a bid.  Sign it and call store manager. You have to turn in the energy clause 2 weeks before the bid is posted.

The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.
