I'm scared I won't get paid for this week

I'm new to Kroger, and the person who was in charge of creating my schedule for this week into the system... sorta didn't. So I had to ask one of the managers to let me work, cause officially, I was off for the entire week. Problem is, everytime I come into work, the time clock won't let me sign in, cause i'm not officially on the schedule. So I have to get one of the managers to override the time clock. That was when I was lucky. The rest of the week, now this manager says, oh they're not allowed to do that so I have to get this other manager. So I get that other manager and they say, yeah, don't worry, I gotcha, as they're walking away busy doing something else.

So I basically have to take them at their word that they will clock me in, or whatever it is they have to do. I was warned by the other cashiers, that they can forget, or something like that. What type of store manager isn't allowed to override my time clock?! But a floor supervisor can, because they have the override. This is seriously CRAZY.

Who am I supposed to talk to, to make sure that I get credit for the days I worked?

There might be a time punch edit log somewhere.  If you are lucky, you just fill it out and get it signed.

Except, Kroger employees are lazy.  We made the mistake of using it, so our office girl keeps it locked in her office so no one except salaried management can access it.

Write down all the times you worked and give it to the HR person if you have one, or members of management. Make several copies if you need to.

Wow, okay, so I finally got a hold of the manager that the other manager told me to talk to (because they can't help me with that). Now THIS manager pulled up my info on the computer. The day that that other manager said that they would clock me out... turns out they didn't... so I was clocked in, but not out... they forgot... I took them at their WORD... lol

So THIS manager has clocked me out for that day, clocked me in and out for the previous two days, and put me in the time clock's system for the rest of the week, so I don't have to bother with this stuff again. It's all good, I can rest easy now.

You will always get paid for any work you do as long as you make all your punches.

Always punch in, for breaks and punch out even if it says you are not in system.  The payroll person can find the data and validate that you made the punches.  Always try to get an override if you need one.  The co managers and most of the CSMs should have the ability to give an override.

Always keep track of the hours you work.  I keep my shifts in a spread sheet.  Might sound stupid/nerdy but no one cares if you get paid correctly except you.

My old store had a time clock correction notebook at the service desk like most stores do.  My new store has it hidden behind the service desk.  And, no one knows about it!!!  Lazy f uckers.  It is a ridiculous waste of time to get corrections now.

Really? It records me punching in even if it says error cannot find schedule? I did not know that.

Well, no need for me to worry about that from now on. The manager put my unofficial hours in the time clock's for today and tomorrow, so I can clock in as usual. And this upcoming week I'm already scheduled. I'm glad that's over.

Yeah, our customer service desk has some piece of notebook paper where people are supposed to write their unscheduled clock ins/outs and breaks. Not a notebook, but a flimsy piece of paper...

Glad it worked out for you. Usually just communicating with HR/management & following up on it fixes things, as it did for you.
