What gets to me is someone who can talk a lot of sh.. about others, insult people left and right, but the minute the tables turn they say "That's makes me mad, shut up. You need to watch what you say to others."

I just wish the majority of those lipping off all the time, WOULD just shut it or get reprimanded for it. I swear there are times that some peeps I work with, can NEVER shut it and constantly talk about others. Like if you put half that amount of energy into actually doing your job you could get way more done.
Not only that. But it is in just bad taste to see folks my age(30) or somewhat older talking about the younger employees all the time. It's just so immature and silly.

I hate gossip no matter who is doing it. Gossip is poison. Murder, rape, adultery, grand theft, terrorism are all at the top but somewhere in the top ten is GOSSIP!
At my store, gossip reigns supreme. If you get fired or dismissed from work, the "reasons" can and will range from being head of the Columbian Mafia, The Mexican Mafia to something worse or not so bad. And if you fail to stop it, you will also have "committed " some other "crime ." All this before gossip ends.
People needed to mtomfb and worry about themselves.
i love it when people who are in their 20s and 30s act like they're freshman in high school. the gossip will never end no matter what. my department has 7 people in it and there's enough gossip for the entire store to coast on. it's sort of a litmus test for me, to see who are the biggest whiners, complainers, and gossipers, so i can automatically label them as idiots and avoid them at all costs. just realize that you aren't the problem, they are. they are the ones who act like immature children, so just behave the polar opposite that they do and you've already won the battle.
In my department everyone talks about everyone, behind their backs. I can't stand it. I just listen and do my job. I know if their talking about the others, their talking about me also. This is why I keep home-at-home and work-at-work. I'm not there to make friends, I'm there to work.

Dude this is so true! I know the few times I had worked off the clock to get caught up with stuff when I was on closing for a time. And I had come in the next day someone told me they had heard I had stayed til 2 a.m. It's like dude the damn store closes at 1 a.m. and at most I would go til 11:15 or so for one. And truly after I have hit the big ticket stuff that needs to be put away/cleaned up I'm out of there. No way in the world do I stay THAT late good grief.

Totally agree with you. At most, I used to groan about having to work with particular co-workers(going far too slow, taking too many breaks, etc.) before they moved the majority of those peeps over to the Deli for the time being. But I for sure do not bring home life to work. And other than some venting here and there on here/at home, I try and just let a little work come home with me. But beyond that, definitely gotta let it go.
I couldn't agree more. My co-workers know almost nothing about my personal life. They know I have siblings, but I don't talk about them. It's really none of their concern. They also know I lost a parent since many of them came to the funeral home. Other than that, they know nothing about my day to day home life. I never talk about work at home unless something out of the ordinary happens. My family doesn't care about walkthroughs or CAO or other crap like that.
No one in my department is nice, but the second I give them a taste of their own medicine they whine about how mean I am to them. All these idiots ever do is complain about everybody else.
