Mark Down Stickers
Permalink

I really hate the stickers that are used for mark downs especially the ones in Bakery because they are always half faded and never properly scan and i end up having to hand type in the codes. Or sometimes someone will "forget" to put the stickers over the bar code, there was some sort of cereal from health and the guy that works it didn't put it over the bar code and I ran like 14 of them through and had to go back and void them all and do it again.

If the ones in bakery are faded, it means they either need to clean the printer or get a different one.

Try changing the printer battery. My labels print a bit faded and they are hard to scan when battery gets to one or two bars. But sometimes you can't even tell, only after you change the battery you see the difference.

Also, cleaning it helps.

Mark Down Stickers can be a pain, just memorize what parts of the barcode that you can and it gets easier.
It's pretty much a feature of cashiering. Mark Down items that don't scan. At some point i realized mark down generally starts as 9200 then a good portion of them tends to be 6489. At this point that's almost muscle memory so when I see mark down with upc's like that I'm pretty much just typing in a normal produce code untill I get to the last 8 or so numbers.
