Has anyone worked for Walmart?

I've only worked at my kroger store for 3 weeks now and it is so unorganized and management is poor. Been thinking about switching to Walmart and quitting here. Just wondering how different it is if at all. I can't stand the lack of communication. I went to work yesterday and my manager didn't even know I was supposed to be there...what??? I could have skipped work yesterday and no one would have noticed!

I've never worked at Walmart, but I just posted to say that if you dislike your store so much try transferring to another one after a few months. That's what I did after the first 3 months and it worked out great.

Quitting a job after a month isn't really a good look to other employers. But if you feel like you absolutely MUST leave due to a toxic work enviornment, and don't want to take any chances with another store, then get a different primary job, and only work at Kroger for 8 hours a week or so.

The next closest store to me is an hour away so I don't want to transfer. The thing is I like my coworkers and manager but there is like zero communication and it feels chaotic. I'm still new and need some direction but don't feel like I'm getting any and no one seems to want to help. From reading this forum it seems like that is a common thing at kroger so was hoping someone might know if Walmart is any better. Or maybe retail just isn't for me :(
