But then, you will be stuck delegating tasks to people that think it is bull**** to work 1000 hours to get next raise.
Most people start at minimum wage and do their time to get the pay they are at. Yes, the recent contracts that make you wait to hit 1000 hours to get to next pay raise sux. I was hired before they started that. But, I went thru the nickel raise after 6 months, nickel raise after a year and dime after 2 years. Now, I am one of the better paid Department Managers. And, treated well by my store managers.
sadly, this was the case for my latest raise. at least the night premium went up to 60 cents an hour instead of 30!
I understand your frustration. I have one night clerk that started 3 years ago and is making the same as people that started 6 months ago due to the minimum wage increases.
I was above min and above all the kids around me then min wage increased and I got very shafted by the union and was making only 10c over what new hires were making. It was complete bull**** and I told my store steward and the union people that visit the store just how dissatisfied with them I was.
