Almost every other grocery retailer is better than Kroger. Unless you enjoy being overworked and abused, the grass is actually greener. There are the few Kroger stores that are actually well run, but rare.
of course there are better places, kroger is among the bottom rung of working a job. i hear wal mart actually pays decently better than kroger does, and i've also heard that costco gives you a pretty good wage. i would recommend getting out of retail all together, but there are plenty of places similar to kroger that don't treat you like garbage.

I have heard that walmart micromanages every second of labor for that better pay. Ok, maybe I am still ticked walmart would not hire me into their warehouse 25 years ago when I desperately needed a job.
I also heard Costco pays more but it is very hard to get hired there. I think I was told they hire mostly friends of current employees. That won't end well.
I am paid very well by Kroger and enjoy my job. It would be better if my night coworkers would show up when they are scheduled tho.
yeah costco pays like 12 dollars an hour, if you are good with kissing up, and talkative, and personable with management then that would be better. maybe even try whole foods
Over here Costco starts at $14/hr, tops out at like $29. Most average around $20/hr. They also get unconditional bonuses either lump sum cash or in store credit (thousands), not to mention a lot of OT if you want it.
